| NOISEOTICA, the debut CD
release by the US based group SKYLINE,
is a genre defying, fragmented mix of infectious rhythms with
guitar and turntable nased sonic chaos. in this stirringly
ideosyncratic sound environment, the listener is pulled in
opposing extremes as the grooves, many of which are appropriated
from mainstream culture, do battle with constantly evolving
soundscapes. the end product is something that the group calls "Noiseotica"...a
polarized state of aural experience. |

achieves all of this in real time, as each piece is created
through an improvisational process. The process reflects teamwork
in the truest sense.. In a gulag styled environment , JB
sets the mood by throwing a random selection of sampled
appropriated grooves at the three other collaboraorators leading
them through sonic calitsthenics. Each member reacts
and contributes in real time: SKYKING with serrated, soaring
guitar sounds, DJZ with visionary vinyl manipulations and VO with
lo end pulsations. |
